There was an explosion of handsome at the recent Daytime Emmy Awards as two men, Brandon Barash, and recent Daytime Emmy nominee Tyler Christopher, who have both played Stefan on Days of Our Lives, saw each other at the big show.
While replacing another actor in a role can sometimes make for an awkward situation, these two professionals have known each other for many years because both got their start on soaps on General Hospital.
Christopher began on that show back in 1996 as Nikolas Cassadine, a young prince of Russian origin, while Barash joined in 2007 as Johnny Zacchara, as another kind of prince — of a local mob family.
When it was announced that Barash would be taking over the role of Stefan O. DiMera from Christopher, the latter sent out a heartfelt tweet to his former co-star on Twitter, saying “Please welcome @BrandonBarash into the roll. Such a solid actor and an even better person. #nbcdays #stefandimera”
Obviously touched, Barash responded with a beautiful note back saying, “Thank you, friend, for your graceful passing of the proverbial torch & the warm welcome into the Days community.”.
You can see rest of Barash’s note below, along with a picture that was shared on social media of the two actors at the Daytime Emmys this past Sunday.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
