Steve suggested the real attacker was not Tripp but someone related to him. It was far-fetched but he managed to convince Kayla and John to help him seek out the truth.
Gwen lied and manipulated Chad and managed to convince him that Abigail was sleeping with Jake. He went into a spiral and wound up in bed with the nanny. Gwen was pleased with herself.
While Chad was with Gwen, Abigail put the pieces together and realized Jake was sleeping with Kate. She forced Jake to confess, which he did, and they ran off to spill all to Chad. Sadly, they could not find him because he had fallen into Gwen’s trap.
