Days of Our Lives fans haven’t seen Judi Evans on the NBC soap in a while, but they’ve been catching her on the news thanks to the actress’ real-life struggles!

A Message From Judi Evans

Evans, as previously reported, has been hospitalized for weeks following a horseback riding accident. Doctors discovered blood clots and while she’s been in the hospital for treatment, she contracted COVID-19. She had her legs operated on in an effort to keep them from being amputated.

The actress appeared on Good Morning America this week, as well as other outlets including TODAY, Deadline, USA Today, Variety, FOX News, and have covered Evans’ ordeal, too. Now, Evans wants her fans to know she’s been reading their supportive posts on social media and she appreciates the well-wishes.

Evans’ publicist and good friend Howie Simon posted an update on Facebook: “A note from Judi Evans to all her friends, family and fans for the prayers and support the last 6 months. She’s been reading the Facebook messages from everyone ❤️😁.”

The Emmy-winner held up a note that read: “Thank you!! Your love and support have meant the world to me!!”

Evans’ longtime leading Salem man, Wally Kurth, nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role as Justin, wrote on Twitter: “Judi is feeling better and hoping to get home soon. She certainly appreciates all the love and prayers sent her way. ❤️🙏”

Judi Evans first made the daytime scene in 1983 as heroine Beth Raines on Guiding Light, the role that won her a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1984.

Evans remained on the show until 1986. Before that year ended, she landed the role of Adrienne on DAYS. After DAYS, Evans returned to the east coast to take over the role of Paulina Cory on Another World. She remained on that series until it went off the air in 1999.

In 2003, Evans returned to DAYS, but not as Adrienne. She was cast in the role of Bonnie Lockhart, a bodacious, lottery-loving schemer who wed Mickey Horton (John Ingle) when he believed that his beloved Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) was dead. After Bonnie went off to jail, Evans came back as Adrienne, who died not too long ago in a car accident.

It’s been reported that Evans is set to come back to DAYS, but it’s unclear whom she’ll be playing. Soap Hub wishes Evans a continued recovery. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
