If we know one thing to be true, it’s that Nicole Walker will always screw up a good thing….and the audience will always forgive her for it. And that’s what makes actress Arianne Zucker – the recipient of Soap Hub’s Performer of the Week Award – such a stand-out.

Nicole’s latest faux pas is a doozy: she’s cheated on her husband, the one who could give Dudley Do-right a real run for his money, and she’s done so with a man of the lowest order – and she should know since he once held her hostage in a cage and blackmailed her into marriage.
Making matters worse, was the fact that someone was on to Nicole’s secret…someone who’d hated her for years and years; and that someone just so happened to be Nicole’s sister-in-law.
So, after engaging in incredibly awkward small talk with a man who she’s seriously crushing on, Nicole was forced to do verbal battle with her rival. Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) came out (metaphorical) guns blazing, but it was Nicole who emerged the victor.

However, the win was a hollow one, decided by a technicality in the form of dummied up evidence that “proved” Nicole’s claim of fidelity.
Afterward, Nicole was so consumed with guilt that she decided to confess all to Eric, the missionary hubby currently serving abroad, via email. She composed the missive but hesitated.
Intervention came in the form of her surrogate father. Nicole admitted that there were problems, seemingly insurmountable problems in her marriage; and she wept openly – you can always rely on Zucker to deliver the emotional goods.
In the end, Nicole opted not to go forward with her plan – despite the advice she was given to be open and honest. That decision will no doubt come back to bite her, and there’s no doubt that Arianne Zucker will rise to the occasion when it does. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
