One of the most popular mother-son duos in soap history will reunite later this year when BOTH Alison Sweeney and Chandler Massey return to Days of Our Lives (DOOL).
When DAYS killed Will nearly two years ago, Sweeney returned for Sami’s son’s funeral, but also made no bones about how she felt about the story, telling Soap Opera Digest:
“This particular story is something I just don’t agree with and didn’t from the moment they told me. And I don’t understand why they did it.”
Sweeney was not alone. Fans were outraged in a way rarely seen before in DAYS history, not comprehending the purpose of killing a legacy character–a Brady AND a Horton who we watched grow from birth in real time onscreen.
When we last saw Will, he was played by Guy Wilson, but now Chandler Massey is returning to the role that won him three Daytime Emmy Awards.

And, Sweeney couldn’t be more thrilled.
“I’m so excited to work with Chandler again,” she said in the May 22 issue of Soap Opera Digest. “It will be fun to see what they have in store for our characters.”
Sweeney recently said that she wanted to bring Sami back in true form. If she learns Will has been hidden from her for two years…well, that could be a level of Hurricane Sami that we’ve never seen before.
