Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) gave birth to Rachel (Lorelei Olivia Mote, who’s also part of another project) and was told her baby daughter had died. But she hadn’t. It was Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) baby, Mackenzie, who died. And it was Xander (Paul Telfer) who switched the infants. Xander and Sarah (and Greg Vaughan’s Eric) raised Rachel as Mackenzie for almost a year before Sarah was forced to give her up. Kristen has never really forgiven Xander for that. Not that it stops her from sleeping with him.
Remembrance of Things Past
Soaps often have selective memories about what characters were up to before a given day’s episode. Which is why we offer our kudos to Kristen and Xander for discussing his kidnapping of Rachel back in the day, her current anger with Brady (Eric Martsolf) about Rachel’s care, and Xander’s joint custody of Victoria with Sarah. Considering there is nothing realistic or down-to-earth about either character, their conversation was surprisingly intelligent and adult. We loved it!
