On the June 16 episode of Days of our Lives, Brady and Sarah discussed Liam leaving Salem and moving in with his brother, Charlie. Earlier, Sarah remembered that her sister, Melissa, was once Charlie’s stepmother. We know who Charlie’s parents are… but now that we know who Liam’s mother is, we are very suspicious about his father….
Key Takeaways:
- Charlie is the son of Ivy and Pete
- Liam and Charlie share a mother, Ivy
- Ivy once dated Mike Horton….
We Were There
Longtime Salem viewers remember Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) oldest sister, Melissa (Lisa Trusel). Maggie (Suzanne Rogers, who spoke about her character’s evolution) and Mickey (John Clarke) adopted teen Melissa a few years after Sarah was born. She was once married to a man named Pete (Michael Leon). As is wont to happen in soapland, along the way to the altar with Melissa, Pete slept with his childhood friend, Ivy (Holly Gagnier), and they had a son, Charlie. Now we know that Charlie is Liam’s (Hank Northrop) older brother via their mom — they both have their mom’s last name — Selejko. So we’ve got to ask: Who is Liam’s daddy?
What Comes Next
Pete and Ivy weren’t together for long. He was madly in love with Melissa and, since she was the show’s heroine at the time — along with cousin and best friend, Hope (Kristian Alfonso) — Melissa was obviously going to get the guy in the end. So Pete and Ivy split up. And Holly began dating Mike (Roark Critchlow). Their relationship kind of fizzled out, and Ivy left town… pregnant with Mike’s baby? Could Liam be a Horton?
Too Close for Comfort
We hope not. Because if Liam is a Horton, that makes him a blood relative of Ari’s (Vico Escorcia). (Pay close attention… Mike is the son of Bill. Bill is the father of Lucas. Lucas is the father of Will. Will is the father of Ari. If Liam is Mike’s son, he and Ari would be… second cousins once removed?) We’d rather see Ari and Liam as a couple than as kissing cousins. (Though if this is the twist on the way, it may be why the writers pulled the plug on a romance for Ari and Liam.)
