When Days of Our Lives (DOOL) wrongfully imprisons a character, it seems to go all out, as is he case of poor Gabi (not to be confused with Gabby).
We all knew Gabi (Camila Banus) did NOT kill Andre (Thaao Penghlis) and that Abigail’s (Marci Miller) alters were setting her up on the stand, telling lie after lie. Gabi knew it and the alters new it–still, Gabi went to prison and sure did have a heck of a time there.
Now, Gabi has been in prison before and we thought she knew how to hold her own–and boy did she try, but she was no match for fellow inmate Diane, who tried to kill Gabi and almost did, sending her to the infirmary for weeks.

And then there was Abigail, alters under control, knowing what happened, and confessing all.
Yet, it took what seemed like weeks for Gabi’s release to be arranged. And, as soon as it was, Diane tried attacking Gabi again–until a syringe ended up killing her and Gabi was the accused attacker. And, here we go again.
Soap Hub asked if Gabi’s ordeal was all a bit much and maybe even unnecessary, and nearly 10,000 of you weighed in.
A whopping 96% of you are so, so, so glad it’s over. Yes, Gabi is finally free and roaming about Salem after Ari fully rejected her for being gone for so long and the constant “lies” that she’ll be home any day.
This is happening just as Abby, the person who really killed Andre, returns to Salem fully integrated.
So yes, Gabi, an innocent woman who went to prison for the crime Abby committed, remained in that prison the entire time a walking free Abby underwent intense therapy. Say what?
The remaining 4% of you thought it was at least entertaining to see what horrible thing would happen to Gabi next. You’re happy she’s out of jail, but at least it wasn’t a boring storyline.
