While everyone got cozy on Valentine’s Day in Salem, things took an unexpected turn over at Aremid.

As Valentine’s evening kicked off in Salem, Javi (Al Calderon) and Leo (Greg Rikaart) had a cozy night in watching football while Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) continued their Valentineversary celebration. Over at The Bistro, Stephanie (Abigail Klein) met Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) for a romantic dinner.
Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) decided they were interested in adopting Tate (Leo Howard) and Sophia’s (Rachel Boyd) baby. Tate was thrilled but hoped Sophia’s mother would go along with it, telling them she wanted the baby to go to a Christian family. Johnny and Chanel later discussed that aspect, deciding they were still good people to adopt a baby regardless of religious beliefs.
After Doug III (Peyton Meyer) accidentally walked in on Holly (Ashley Puzemis) in her lingerie, he told her he was there to find the book that Doug (the late Bill Hayes) had given to Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) last Valentine’s Day. His grandfather’s romantic gesture prompted him to confess his feelings to Holly. When Tate arrived, Doug III left, allowing Tate and Holly to enjoy their Valentine’s Day together.

At the cabin, after Tate cooked dinner, he and Holly made love for the first time. After marking the significant milestone in their relationship, when Tate admitted his concern about Doug III, Holly assured him that they were just friends. Over at the Horton House, after showing JJ (Casey Moss) the book and song that Doug wrote for Julie, he confided in him about his feelings for Holly.
EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) interrupted Abe (James Reynolds) and Paulina’s (Jackée Harry) Valentine’s dinner to try — and fail — at getting his DA job back. Meanwhile, Belle (Martha Madison) ran into “Rafe” (Galen Gering) at the bar, where he planted a kiss on her. She went to the DiMera Mansion to vent to EJ and wound up kissing him instead.
As Jada (Elia Cantu) packed up and moved out of Rafe’s house, Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) reassured her that she was on her side in all this. Later, JJ surprised Gabi by sending her flowers and then arrived to spend Valentine’s Day with her. While Jada ran into “Rafe,” the two went at it again.

While Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) informed Kate (Lauren Koslow) that he was moving into the Kiriakis Mansion, Xander (Paul Telfer) surprised Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) with a candlelit Valentine’s Day dinner. It was eventually interrupted by Philip moving in, and when he and Sarah were left alone, she revealed she wasn’t unhappy they were about to live under the same roof.
Jada and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) grew closer as they played darts at the pub, while Roman (Josh Taylor) showed up and surprised Kate for Valentine’s Day.
Belle and EJ’s V-Day took a turn when Belle got a call from Paulina informing her that EJ was trying to take her DA job back. Once again, the argument ended with them in bed. Also in bed were Gabi and JJ after having the house all to themselves.

Jada dreamed that Rafe was back to his old self and showed up apologizing. When she woke up, she got a visit from Steve (Stephen Nichols), who picked her brain about the missing Ava (Tamara Braun). Later, Jada ran into Javi and admitted she still loved Rafe, prompting him to finally reveal that he caught “Rafe” cheating on her.
The Woman in White (Roslyn Gentle) brought breakfast to Ava, then introduced herself to Rafe. Brady (Eric Martsolf) brought his concerns about child services taking Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) to Kristen (Stacy Haiduk). Later, he met with Steve, who had enhanced audio from Ava’s voicemail and heard her say the address to Aremid. When they showed up, they found Ava tied to the chair.
When EJ and Belle woke up in bed together, Belle told him she heard him talking in his sleep about setting up Jada. He didn’t fall for her trick, knowing he didn’t talk in his sleep, and she admitted she was trying to get to the bottom of everything that happened. Later, when EJ and Kristen conspired about their captives, Kristen revealed a mysterious serum she received in the mail.

After Javi revealed that “Rafe” had cheated on her with a stripper, Jada ran into Shawn, who just had a fight with Belle. Seeking comfort, she threw herself into Shawn’s arms.
Meanwhile, Rafe tried to bargain with the Woman in White in an attempt to be set free, but she refused. When Brady and Steve saved Ava, she revealed that Rachel Blake was the one holding her captive and that Kristen had known the whole time. When Steve caught Rachel, he brought her to the SPD.
Kristen showed EJ the concoction she received from Rolf (Richard Wharton) and told him it was the serum that wiped memories. Planning to inject it into their captives, when they arrived at Aremid, they discovered Ava was gone. EJ, however, attempted to inject Rafe, and the two wound up fighting over the serum.
