On the August 19 episode of Days of our Lives, Roman invited Kate to move back in — to The Pub’s guest room. He admitted that he’d like to get back together with his wife, but he’s not there yet. We get it. He’s still mad at her. But, for realz, Roman, did you not know who you were marrying when you married her?

Key Takeaways

  • Roman invites Kate back home, but isn’t ready to resume their marriage.
  • Roman continues to hold Kate responsible for Johnny’s blunder.
  • Roman needs to decide whether he can truly accept Kate for who she is.

Roman Holds Kate Responsible for Johnny’s Blunder

Titan needed money. And Kate (Lauren Koslow) decided that publishing was the most profitable business of theirs to exploit. So she got Bonnie (Judi Evans) to submit the books she copied from Stephanie (Abigail Klein) to Johnny (Carson Boatman, whose character may be turning into EJ).

Johnny stupidly put a book into production without reading it — or having anyone else at the company read it either. Titan then sued DiMera, seeking billions. Johnny dropped the ball big time. But Roman (Josh Taylor) decided to blame Kate for his grandson’s lack of business skills. Sure, sure, he was angry that she lied to him about it, too. So he threw Kate out.

Roman Knows Exactly Who Kate Is

Now, Roman is willing for Kate to move into Ari’s (Vico Escorcia) old room, and for Kate to keep groveling until Roman resumes their marriage. He’s suggested that it will happen eventually. And then what? What will happen the next time Kate acts like… Kate?

Kate was Kate before she married Roman. Roman knew that. And yet, every time Kate acts like Kate anew, Roman gets huffy. And acts surprised. How many times does this have to happen before he accepts who his wife is and decides whether he can put up with it forever — or it’s time to cut the cord once and for all?
