The DAYS recap for Thursday, December 8, 2022, doubles down on the previously established fact that Ava Vitali is still among the living and itching to revenge herself on EJ DiMera.

In this episode, Ava (Tamara Braun) stalks the DiMera estate while EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) deals with a prickly, religious relative. Elsewhere, Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash) acts all kinds of foolish, and “Ericole” part ways — not for the first time, and probably not for the last. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Days of our Lives Recap: She’s Back
In case there was any confusion, in case the close-up of that bullet casing didn’t get across the point that Ava really did confront EJ on old Decatur Road and fire a shot at him, the sight of the Mafiosa sneaking her way into Casa DiMera surely cleared everything up. Surely.

And not only is Ava alive, but she’s still planning to make EJ’s life a misery before reuniting him with the mother that she killed. But when to strike? How about the day of Susan Banks’s (Stacy Haiduk) memorial? Wouldn’t that be fitting?
DOOL Recap: Judge Not…
Speaking of EJ and the memorial that he’s slapdashedly throwing together, his day went from pretty okay to bad to worse — courtesy of the appearance of Sister Mary Moria *ahem* excuse us, Aunt Sister Mary Moria (Stacy Haiduk).
ASMM, as we’ll call her for now, is in Salem to get the story of her sister’s death from the horse’s mouth…so to speak. So, what does EJ have to say for himself? Is it as ASMM suspects? Was he out chasing money and/or women while his mother was burning alive in that car? No, no, that’s true at all, swears EJ. ASMM doesn’t much believe him.
And who could blame her? How trustworthy can a man named after notorious skirt chaser Elvis Presley actually be? Not to mention the fact that there’s not one room in the whole of his mansion that has a crucifix. And what’s this about EJ letting a “lady friend” stay in Susan’s bedroom? Huh? Huh?

DAYS Recap: Explanation Warranted
Stefan thinks that he’s got it all figured out, and he’s cocky about it too. Neck rolls, poop-eating grin, the lot. All he needs/wants is for Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) to confirm — because denying isn’t going to help — that Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) absconded with the DiMera jet for personal business on a day that Stefan wanted to abscond with it for his own personal business.
Li was happy — well, happyish — to oblige. Yes, Wendy was involved in the planenapping…but so was Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman). Stefa knows Johnny DiMera, right? His nephew…the son of the company CEO. That Johnny DiMera. Does Stefan want to make a big deal about his own kin getting up to exactly what he was planning on getting up to?
Not really, declares Stefan. But when he catches sight of Wendy and Johnny with their heads together, he warns them against such shenanigans in the future. He’s got his eye on them, and there’s no way that they’ll be able to pull one over on him. HA!
Days of Our Lives Recap: Calling It Quits
Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) are over. O.V.E.R. Over. And before they even really got started back up. He holds her responsible for his ex aborting their baby, she’s disillusioned that he’s not the great, special man that she thought him to be.
Post-breakup, Eric heads for Sloan Petersen’s (Jessica Serfaty) — she’s more than uber excited to see him — and Nicole wiles away her time flashbacking to happier times. Well, happier-ish times. There were still a lot of tears even then.
DOOL Recap: Feelings Of Unease Compounded
Would Wendy mind being Gabi Hernandez’s (Camila Banus) maid of honor? It would make Gabi so very happy, and it would go a long way in bonding the two women. Gabi would so very much like to have a sister to replace the one who died. Sure, agreed Wendy through gritted teeth, she’d just love to. Of course, Li was very worried to hear this transpired…since he doesn’t quite trust his sister to keep his dirty secret forever.
