The DAYS recap for Friday, December 30, 2022, sees an attempt to cut a coupling in progress off at the pass failing spectacularly.

In this episode, Gabi Hernandez-Momentarily-Shin (Camila Banus) takes her no-good, lying liar husband to task, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) gives his daughter’s kidnapping the green light, and the ringing in of a new year for several couples and about-to-be couples. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Days of our Lives Recap: Water-Colored Memories
Thanks to an onrush of memories, Gabi knows what she knows, and that proves inconvenient for Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) since what Gabi knows is that they were privy to Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) brainwashing of Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash).

Good brother Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and cop extraordinaire Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) placed the baddies under arrest for…crimes…and hauled them down to the police station where they sweated it out in the interrogation room. Well, Li sweated. Kristen couldn’t afford to in that sequined number, plus, you know, she’s a cold-blooded so-and-so.
Back at the venue for the wedding that wasn’t, Gabi extracted from Nicole Walker Soon-To-No-Longer-Be-Hernandez (Arianne Zucker) the hotel hosting Stefan and Chloe and made a beeline for it with an assist from Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) who are feeling all kinds of bad for knowing what Gabi knows and had forgotten about and keeping mum all this time. Still, had they known that Li actually tried to murder Stefan, that might have changed things, but they didn’t so it didn’t.

DOOL Recap: The Heat Is On
In Miami, things were heating up between Stefan and Chloe until it wasn’t. Chloe just couldn’t bring herself to fall into bed with her ex, but she could manage to have dessert with him and accompany him to one of the area’s most happening nightclubs. After that, and only after could Chloe consider sleeping with Stefan…and she decided that, yeah, she was amenable.
DAYS Recap: Never Question The Plan
Back in Salem, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) readied to spirit Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) to parts known only to him and Brady only to be stymied by a phone call from Brady concerning Kristen’s arrest. Since the villainess was in lockup, they needed to postpone the kidnapping.
Minutes later, the plan was back on thanks to Rafe’s ingenious plan to let Kristen and Li back into the world at large in order to lull them into a false sense of security. Brilliant that…maybe.
DOOL Recap: Rinse And Repeat
As fireworks exploded overhead and heralded 2024 — in the Salemverse — Nicole and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) — who’d admitted to the blonde bombshell that he actually did know about Stefan’s conditioning and kept quiet — locked lips, Johnny and Wendy shared their first kiss, Rafe and Jada mooned over one another but forwent a smooch, and Gabi burst in on Stefan and Chloe basking in the afterglow of their lovemaking. The New Year is certainly off to an interesting start!
