In the Tuesday, May 13 episode of Days of Our Lives, it’s still unclear whether Johnny shot EJ. That look on his face when he hugged Paulina screamed that there was more to the story. Meanwhile, Xander vowed to apologize to Felicity for being so harsh with her. Cat asked EJ why he bid on her in the online bachelorette auction. Kate and Roman revealed their respective secrets to each other. And Xander and EJ continued their interest in purchasing the hospital while Philip decided to take advantage.

The War for the Hospital

Lesser of Two Evils #1: EJ DiMera

EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) won’t abide by Kayla’s decision to decline his offer for the hospital. He has now gone over her head and arranged a meeting with the board. Plus, he added a condition. For a moment, it felt like EJ would tell Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) that he was going to make the condition of her removal as Chief of Staff part of the purchase.

That would have told us that EJ 2.0 had disappeared. Instead, his condition involved the board needing to make a decision on the spot, or his offer would disappear. He doesn’t want to give Xander (Paul Telfer) even a chance to make his pitch. His thirst for Versivex caused him to enlist Belle (Martha Madison) in his quest. He wants her to use her charm on his behalf. After all, she could sway certain board members like her brother.

Meanwhile, Belle could also throw a wrench into this whole matter and decidedly win this for EJ. All she would need to do was publicize the fact that Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) forged Victor’s letter, which would put the Titan-Dimera merger in jeopardy. Would Belle do that even though she told Philip she wouldn’t say anything? It all depends on how dirty this war gets.

Lesser of Two Evils #2: Xander Kiriakis

Xander didn’t make any moves in this episode. He mainly resided by Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) bedside. She did need him to explain why he didn’t tell her about Titan-DiMera potentially purchasing the hospital.

It was Philip who made the moves on Tuesday. First, he talked to Kate (Lauren Koslow) about his plans to help Xander win the bid to purchase the hospital. That way, Titan-DiMera would be the ones to get Versivex, which could help Bo (Peter Reckell). But at the same time, he hoped it would get Xander to forgive him. Let’s hope Philip’s presence doesn’t make this whole hot mess even more of a mess. But that’s the way it seems like this is going.

Part of his plan was to call up his nerdy friend from high school — Kevin Lambert (Chadwick Hopson) — who Philip conveniently found out works in Dr. Russell’s (Michael Dietz) lab. It pays to stay friends with high school nerds, huh? He’ll undoubtedly prove very valuable. Now, if all these different factions were communicating, that would be great. Philip and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) are basically working for the same thing, and they have no clue.
