On the August 5 episode of Days of our Lives, the show all but hit viewers over the head with a potential Stephanie and Theo pairing. Sure, there are some good reasons for them being together. But there are so many more for them to stay apart!

Key Takeaways

  • Stephanie and Theo understand and support each other.
  • Stephanie owns her mistakes and tries to move forward.
  • Theo’s negativity could bring out the worst in Stephanie.

Stephanie and Theo Make Perfectly Supportive Friends

In some ways, Stephanie (Abigail Klein) and Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) as a couple make sense. They’re good friends. They look out for each other. They enjoy taking turns complaining about what’s going on in their lives, and they reassure each other that they have every right to be upset about them. They’re like a very affirming ChatGPT program. If Stephanie leaves Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and hooks up with Theo, they can spend hours just crying on each other’s shoulders.

Stephanie Does What Theo Struggles to Do

Stephanie and Theo may seem similar, but there is one big difference between them: Stephanie takes responsibility for her mistakes. She was truly sorry about almost shooting Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins). She was even more sorry when her outburst made Joy change her mind about sharing custody of Kelsey with Alex. And she admitted as much. Plus, Stephanie is, overall, a pretty positive person. She tries to move on and look on the bright side.

Why Stephanie and Theo Wouldn’t Work in the Long Run

Theo, however, is often grumpy, always expecting the worst, and always blaming somebody else whenever things go wrong for him. If the world doesn’t act the way Theo wants it to, well, they’re wrong, and he’s right. Sure, Stephanie might like that defeatist attitude in the short run since it supports her, but that wouldn’t quite work in the long run. These two would bring out the worst in each other. A love story should bring out the best.
