As expected, the February 11 episode of Days of Our Lives dropped the hammer on Body & Soul. The show will live on, just not in Salem. However, another urgent development quickly popped up after the announcement of the fate of B&S.

Buh Bye Body & Soul

Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Abe (James Reynolds) gathered the B&S cast and crew at the hospital and told them the big news: Body & Soul, as they knew it, was over. However, it wasn’t canceled. The “network” loved the show, so they bought the rights from Kate and Abe, who made a small fortune. And the production is relocating to Los Angeles. Since the network loves the cast, the actors are free to move to LA along with the show.

Hattie (Deidre Hall) seemed all for it, as did Seth Burns (Bruce Beatty). You could see the wheels churning in Joy’s (AlexAnn Hopkins) brain. This could be a way to get Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) away from Stephanie (Abigail Klein). She still can’t read the room, even though she witnessed Alex and Stephanie kiss. She rather try to lay some guilt and see what happens. And Alex still can’t cut the cord on his so-called relationship with Joy.

Granted, Alex, while more mature than he’s ever been, still couldn’t manage to end one relationship before starting another. And now things are messy. He’s going to need to let Joy down — rip the band-aid off, so to speak. Then, let her go off to LA to be a big star.

Bonnie (Judi Evans) says she needs to talk to Justin (Wally Kurth) before making any decisions, but since she’s usually in and out of Salem’s action, commuting to LA seems like the perfect way to explain any upcoming absences. Meanwhile, B&S director Johnny (Carson Boatman) is leaning towards staying in Salem so he can focus on his marriage, which was super shaky up until the last week.

Leo (Greg Rikaart), however, was not as lucky. The network wanted to hire their own head writer, which meant he was out of a job. Will Leo go back to The Spectator and the land of Lady Whistleblower or pursue new opportunities?

Bankruptcy Battle

When Seth Burns visited Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), he told her he had already tendered his resignation from the hospital. He thought that maybe Kayla would want to go to LA as well. Not so much, said Kayla. She would rather remain at the hospital and do what she was meant to do: be a doctor.

That’s when Seth dropped a shocker only to those who haven’t watched DAYS’s Winter Preview. We knew the hospital was going to be in trouble, but we weren’t sure how that would happen. Apparently, the suits at Salem University Hospital have filed for bankruptcy.

So, which DAYS players will be involved in this story? In the comments, let us know who you feel should actively contribute to saving the hospital.
