A throwback social media post has the Internet buzzing, but what’s the real story behind it?

Michael Easton, currently playing Dr. Hamilton Finn on General Hospital, recently posted a photo from the past that has his fans wondering if something more is going on.

On his official Facebook page, the actor posted a photograph of him as the smoking hot Tanner Scofield, the young rebel he played on Days of Our Lives from 1990 to 1992. The photo included the caption: “Oh, the early nineties were strange days indeed.”

Followers responded to the post, asking the actor if he was planning on exiting Port Charles to return to Salem. Ron Carlivati, who wrote for the actor on both GH and One Life to Live (where he played John McBain), is now the top scribe at DAYS.

But, so far, Easton hasn’t given a yes or no to his followers. However, a source close to the situation tells Soap Hub that “Michael’s not leaving GH. He just posted the photo [of Tanner] as a Flashback Friday for fun. Nothing more. Nothing less.”

Forever Tanner
Still, if Easton posted the photo to test viewer memories, he definitely learned that quite a few followers recall Tanner — and remember him with great affection, too!

“WOW ! So early early 90’s REALLY. GORGEOUS & HANDSOME Totally. Golly, What A Flashback Day,” wrote one poster. Another posted: “oh YES!!! I TOTALLY remember your Tanner days! You don’t know it, but you and I go waaaay back! LOL”

An additional poster wrote: “Tanner and Molly (Shannon Sturges)! He should stop in Salem for a visit some time!”

Double Duty
Actors have jumped from soap to soap since their inception and actors are still doing that today even though there are only four serials.

While Soap Hub hears Easton isn’t exiting GH, could it be possible for him to work out a deal like Wally Kurth (Ned, GH; Justin, Days) and Eileen Davidson (Ashley, The Young and the Restless; ex-Kristen/Susan, Days) have done where they can be on two soaps at the same time? Anything’s possible!
