While his Salem-based alter-ego, Dimitri, won’t exactly be spreading Christmas cheer, the same can’t be said for Days of our Lives star Peter Porte.

Peter Porte: Christmas Movie Miracle

The actor took to Instagram on Monday to update his followers about his upcoming tinsel-tinged romcom movie and share some behind-the-scenes hiccups. “Yuletide the Knot is the little movie that could,” shared Porte. “I got the script in 2019 and was excited to come on board as an actor as well as producer. After months of planning, we were headed to Colorado with truckloads of Christmas decor and a start date of March 13th … 2020.” Cue the needle scratch!

But like most feel-good pictures, there’s a happy ending in store. Explains Porte, “Three years, countless pivots, pulled favors, and a pandemic later, my tenacious and wildly talented cast and crew made AND sold a movie, and I couldn’t be more proud. Yuletide the Knot premiers this Sunday, Dec 3rd @ 8pm on [UPtv], let’s all get in the holiday spirit together.”

Per uptv.com, the festive flick concerns Rachel (Mary Antonini), who’s “faced with planning her biggest Christmas wedding yet for an out-of-town influencer couple” and “thrown an unexpected surprise when the bride’s manager turns out to be Logan (Porte), her first love and high school sweetheart. He reminds her what it is to love, and through rediscovering the magic of Christmas, she rediscovers a part of her heart she closed off long ago.”

Jackie Cox, who appeared on both Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem and the Mothership alongside Porte, was one of the many who left congratulations and/or uplifting messages on the actor’s post, writing, “That’s amazing! You better make some Xmas magic!!”

In addition to the aforementioned Sunday night airing, fans of Porte (and holiday movies in general) can catch Yuletide the Knot on Saturday, December 9, at 5:00 pm EST.
