Supercouples aren’t restricted to soaps. Days of our Lives star Matthew Ashford recently shared on social media that his parents are facing a big challenge.
Matthew Ashford: Praying For His Parents
“In this time of COVID-19 my dad,” Ashford tweeted, “[My father] Cecil, 93 and Mom, Patty, 89 are hanging on trying to get Better and move back home together after their 66 years married. They are not giving up. Please, everyone, never give up.”
Ashford’s supporters have weighed in with messages of support. One, @gregglead, reached out to the actor and shared a personal story, illustrating the connection that can exist between longtime viewers and their favorite actors.
“Prayers for a speedy & lengthy reunion!” tweeted @gregglead. “My dad recently was going through VHS tapes of DOOL, and he found Jennifer’s Rescue/Kidnapping by Jack and all that followed, the Entire Cruise of deception arc (The eps W/J&J) and J&J’s wedding. He is giving them to me. In tears but happy.

“It has One Stormy Night [a Days of Our Lives] prime time special in 1992) on one tape,” @gregglead added. “They were my moms, & she treasured those tapes. When she passed he couldn’t look at them and put them in storage. I’m going to transfer them all to DVD and right into a special spot in my mancave.”
Matthew Ashford has come and gone over the years on DAYS. Whenever he’s off the canvas, he’s one of the most talked-about stars when fans discuss whom they want to see return to Salem.
