Reformed bad girl Melanie Jonas hasn’t appeared on Days of our Lives since her return to insure that her deceased father was properly laid to rest. And actress Molly Burnett – whose celebrating an important milestone – hasn’t graced a daytime drama since pitch hitting for a fellow (ailing) actress. But she remains as busy as ever.
Happy Birthday, Molly Burnett
That’s because she was born on April 23, 1988, in Denver, Colorado, which means that this much-beloved actress is turning 35 years old today! While attending Littleton High School, Burnett appeared in a number of theatrical productions staged by both the institute and local theater companies.
A guest appearance on the NBC crime drama Life was followed by a contract role on NBC’s Days of our Lives. Burnett made her debut as Melanie Layton in July of 2008 and was quickly revealed to be the heretofore unknown daughter of Carly Manning and Daniel Jonas.
Burnett remained with the soap until 2012 before deciding to leave to pursue other roles – especially in primetime programs. Subsequently, she could be seen in episodes of CSI: NY, Major Crimes, Jessie, and Longmire.
Aside from reprising her DAYS role in both 2014 and 2016, Burnett made one further foray into daytime. In July of 2016 and from June 1-4, 2018, she substituted for actress Kirsten Storms, who played Maxie Jones on General Hospital.
Her other acting credits include a guest spot on Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous as well as recurring roles on Addicts Anonymous, CSI: Cyber, and Queen of the South.
