Days of Our Lives and Supernatural alum Jensen Ackles (here’s our interview with him) has also proven to be an avid golfer, previously playing in celebrity pro-am tournaments. Late last year, he golfed in the Sony Open in Hawaii along with Oscar winner Jamie Foxx and the current Captain America Anthony Mackie. And in a new, hilarious behind-the-scenes video, the actor helped Golf Channel show how hard it is to conquer the TPC Sawgrass golf course, the site of this weekend’s 50th PLAYERS Championship. The tournament is often considered the fifth major of the PGA Tour.
Jensen Ackles: Golf Pro?
Ackles reposted the Golf Channel and THE PLAYERS video that features him “sneaking onto TPC Sawgrass to take his shot at the Island Green.” Specifically, he takes on the 17th tee, a notoriously difficult hole to make. In fact, it’s arguably one of the most memorable holes of professional golf. Ackles takes a few attempts (and hits the water) before making any headway, which is beyond admirable.
THE 50th PLAYERS Championship airs on NBC, Golf Channel, and Peacock this weekend.

Ackles originated the role of Eric Brady back in 1997. After leaving the soap in 2000, he starred in primetime series like Dark Angel, Dawson’s Creek, and Smallville, before hitting it big in Supernatural, which aired for 15 seasons on the WB/the CW.
