He played a suave, aristocratic super spy on Days of Our Lives, an even more suave Broadway impresario on The Nanny and now actor Charles Shaughnessy is taking a second stab at portraying a benevolent King in a brand new film.

According to Soaps.com, Christmas With A Prince: Becoming Royal is about, “pediatrician Dr. Tasha Mason, who sets out to meet up with Prince Alexander in St. Savarre. And while Christmas is a happy time, this season it’s a very stressful one as a treaty is being negotiated between the Prince’s country, St. Savarre, and Vandelien.”
“When Tasha arrives,” the synopsis continues, “Alex completely surprises her by asking for her hand in marriage. Tasha accepts and they begin planning their wedding. However, when Princess Miranda finds out she is not happy. She concocts a plan to halt the fairytale wedding.”
Shaughnessy, who is fondly remembered by daytime fans for starring as Shane Donovan on Days of Our Lives, will be playing King Edward a role the actor is reprising from Christmas With A Prince, the inaugural film in this franchise.

Shaughnessy’s co-stars in the film include Liliana Komorowska (Daphne Grimaldi, As the World Turns) as Edward’s consort, Queen Olivia, Kaitlyn Leeb — an actress best known for the MTV supernatural series Shadowhunters – and Nick Hounslow (The Catch).
The family-friendly picture will be made available on DVD and multiple streaming platforms beginning November 5 of this year. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
