Back in the day, Tom Horton was the favorite dad on Days of Our Lives (DOOL), dolling out advice for anyone in need. There are several characters today that are carrying his torch, being there for their kids.
But who amongst all the fathers in Salem is the best? Soap Hub asked and you answered.
The Young Dad
After almost 4,500 votes were tallied, 47% chose Brady (Eric Martsolf) as the best father in town, which is a bit odd since we almost never see Tate.
Then again, at least he brought him to Canada when he decided to join Nicole for a life on the run from the law.
However, when Tate was kidnapped, Brady did go to great lengths to find his son. He definitely gets props for that one. And for stepping up after Tate’s mom stepped off…into a Mexican drug lord’s waiting arms.
Secret Agent Dad
It seems that 23% believe that John (Drake Hogestyn) is the best Salem has to offer. Despite being on a top-secret mission, he managed to come back to be at his son’s deathbed.

The Mayoral Dad
Still 21% believe the best has to be Abe (James Reynolds). Abe has had to raise his son all on his own after his wife died.
A hard task in normal circumstances but son Theo is also autistic. He’s grown into a fine young man thanks to Abe’s guidance.
The CEO Dad
Apparently only 10% feel Chad (Billy Flynn) deserves the honor. You saw Chad overcome his crippling grief when Abby “died,” managed to pull it together for his son, Thomas, and even brought the baby along with him on dates with Gabi before Abby’s resurrection. That’s a pretty great dad.
