John Black is going through the worst thing imaginable on Days of Our Lives but Drake Hogestyn couldn’t be happier!
That’s because he is going to be a grandfather, courtesy of his daughter Whitney and her husband Tommy! The actor tweeted the happy couple’s announcement, which happened to have coincided with another happy occasion.
“After a rough couple of weeks in Salem, this was a welcomed respite! What a blessing on their 1st Anniversary today. Congratulations Tommy & Whitney! ❤️ woohoo!!! #guesshisname”
In the pictures, you can see the couple with a giant balloon that asks the question, “He or she? Pop to see” — which they did. Once they had, there was blue confetti that showered the ground.

While John Black has been a grandfather for many years, courtesy of Belle (Martha Madison) with Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan), as well as Brady (Eric Martsolf) with Tate, this little boy will be the first one for Hogestyn with from daughter, Whitney.
