Gabi Hernandez DiMera may be unlucky in love at the moment on Days of our Lives but her portrayer is over-the-moon happy — and that is because she just got engaged! Camila Banus revealed the wonderful news over the weekend and showed off her stunning engagement ring as well!
Camila Banus Gets Engaged
The actress revealed the news in an Instagram Live event, as she celebrated with her fiancé Marlon Aquino, family, and friends down in Miami, where she has been celebrating the holiday season.
“I said YES,” wrote the obviously-excited star. “I just got engaged! @aquinomarlon you are my dream man 😍.” Aquino shared the exact moment in his Instagram stories, filmed by his younger sister Chelsea. It showed the couple walking when he pulled her back toward him and got down on one knee on a sandy beach — with a stunning bridge in the background as people cheered on the life-altering event.
A surprise arrives as Banus’s little dog runs towards the couple, almost knocking over Aquino, still down on one knee. Everyone celebrated by clinking champagne glasses to toast the happy couple in yet another Instagram story. One more put it all to music — John Legend’s “All of Me,” — a beautiful romantic ballad about love.

In Banus’s video, she waited for some fans to come on and then asked Aquino if he wanted to share their news but he demurred and said they’re her fans, she should do it. “I said yes — oh my God,” she squealed, showing off her stunning engagement ring as everyone gathered added their cheers and screams. She explains how it all happened, which you can see below.
