The Days of Our Lives recap for Thursday, January 16, 2020, features a day of daring decisions in Salem.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
SteVano (Stephen Nichols) and Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso) plotted to get what they wanted. Gina gave Marlena (Deidre Hall) a gun to protect herself but she didn’t want it. SteVano wanted John (Drake Hogestyn) to help find Stefano in Europe, so Marlena offered to go too but Gina said no — it was too dangerous.
Alone, the two baddies discussed a plan to make Jarlena think the other is dead. When SteVano worried Rafe was getting too close, Gina figured that he was one person they could get rid of. Later, SteVano and John left town, leaving Gina with Marlena.
JJ To The Rescue
JJ (Casey Moss) told Eli (Lamon Archey) he can’t marry Gabi (Camila Banus) because of Lani (Sal Stowers), freaking Gabi out. Eli smoothed it and asked JJ to be his best man. Eli got a call so JJ used the opportunity to quiz Gabi, getting a little too close when he brought up Julie.

Lani asked Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) to go help JJ but she worried he’d shoot her. She also slipped to Lani about her father wanting her shares. She did as Lani asked and interrupted JJ’s talk with Gabi. She dragged Gabi off to the office and motioned to JJ where Gabi’s phone was.
As he worked on it, Eli walked in. Pressed to answer, JJ agreed to be his best man. At the office, Kristen told Gabi she will get her shares when Gabi helps Kristen get an engagement ring from Brady.
Kayla — Disconcerting Info
Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) was concerned about Julie’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) pacemaker’s battery results since it’s losing its charge despite supposedly able to last five years. Later, Kayla spoke with Rafe (Galen Gering) about Hope’s worrisome behavior, including her pass at John. It spurred Rafe to place a call to someone, asking for their help.
Julie and Abe (James Reynolds) talked about Lani and later compared notes about Hope’s strange behavior. She let him know that Hope hurt her when she didn’t move in with them and he told her about her weird behavior at work. Lani called Abe back and told him he would see her soon.
