The Days of Our Lives recap for Monday, April 20, 2020, features Steve making Kayla’s mind up for her, Marlena facing a nightmare, and Zoey startling everyone with her bombshell Salem connection.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
Zoey (Kelly Thiebaud) is more than Evan’s (Brock Kelly) attorney, she is also his sister! Oh yes, she is Orpheus’s (George DelHoyo) daughter. She came to town to take care of her family’s legal woes and intends to keep them all together – despite not being a daddy’s girl. As the story goes, she despises Orpheus, adores her little bro, and is quite smitten with her tiny nephew.
Rafe (Galen Gering) decided his only course of action was to keep moving forward with the adoption. There is no way Evan or Orpheus can gain custody, right? Well, maybe they can’t, but Zoey sure stands a chance and she made sure Rafe knew it.
The Baddest Baddie
As for Orpheus, he spent his day running amok at Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) apartment. He put the fear of death in her and even blamed her for his son turning out terribly. He asked her to raise his children and she let them fall through the cracks. How dare she?
He was gone just as fast as he came, leaving Marlena shaken. Thankfully, John (Drake Hogestyn) came home to console her. Poor Marlena was a puddle of tears and fear.

Later, the baddie met Evan at the park and put him on notice. Orpheus made it clear they shouldn’t put too much trust in Zoey. Yes, she’s family, but their history is terrible and Orpheus wouldn’t put it past his daughter to double-cross them both.
Steve: Let Me Pick For You
Meanwhile, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) visited Steve (Stephen Nichols) with the intention of giving him her decision. He stopped her in his tracks and recused himself from the race. He’s hurt her in ways he can never imagine and can’t forgive himself.
Kayla did not take that well. She threw a fit and accused him of not caring. She told him to stop telling her what to say and what to feel. Kayla even told him to go to hell.
Harsh Realities
At the same time, Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) worried about Kayla’s romantic future. They were both Team Steve but Justin (Wally Kurth) had some serious merit.
Talk then turned to Orpheus being around. Jen was shocked to hear he was alive and panicked about what would come next. Were they safe now? Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
