The Days Of Our Lives recap (DOOL) for Tuesday, August 7 features a day of truth-seeking – about Abigail’s baby – and the night of the fire.
Stefan’s Baby
Chad (Billy Flynn) told Kate that he can accept Abby’s baby, no matter the paternity, because “she’s his wife.”
Just as Kate was ready to reveal the truth about “Stefan’s” baby, she was interrupted by Gabi, who reminded Kate (Lauren Koslow) that they have a deal.
Even though they agreed to stick to the plan, Kate told Gabi (Camila Banus) that Chad has decided to accept the child as his own.
Still angry, Gabi felt that Chad will be “so much better off” without Abby (Marci Miller) in the long run…with the added benefit of leaving Abby devastated.
Kate was ultimately convinced of the idea and confronted Abby about the fact that she won’t take responsibility for killing Kate’s husband.
Kate then admonished Abby by forcing Chad to love the baby, even though it isn’t his. Later, Abby is surprised when Stefan (Tyler Christopher) shows up at her door.
Marlena Does Her Duty
Meanwhile, Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) showed up at Marlena’s office and said that he can’t remember what happened when he went off his meds and asked Marlena to hypnotize him.

Marlena (Deidre Hall) agreed to help him as long as all confidentiality is off the table no matter what they find.
So, she hypnotized Ben and he remembered how he confronted Ciara while he was on his meds, and how Ciara begged him to stay on the medical regimen to keep his chemical imbalance in line. Unsurprisingly, it’s ultimately revealed that he did not, in fact, start the fire.
Tripp Won’t Give Up
Tripp (Lucas Adams) comforted Ciara (Victoria Konefal) from a bad dream about the cabin fire, and he helps to convince her that Ben only saved her from the fire “to kill her.”
They then lean on one another and it culminates with a kiss and a declaration that she is now ready to make love.
Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) confessed her feelings for Tripp to John (Drake Hogestyn), but she thinks he’s “all about Ciara.”
John ultimately makes his granddaughter feel better about herself and her life when he asks her to sing at his wedding, but she still has to deal with the Tripp-Ciara hookup when she gets home.
