A winning 57% see this as a deal-breaker. You should not marry people who lie to you about whether your daughter is dead or alive. We’d say you shouldn’t marry kidnappers or liars in general, but then all of Salem would need a large annulment party. So we’ll combine the two. The Venn diagram is a bit smaller that way.

In any case, even if Xander does love Sarah, he did something horrible, and he set her up for a world of hurt. That’s not great husband material. And, while we’re at it, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) should take a lesson, as well.
Sarah: Forgive, Forget, Wed
A not much smaller 43% of the audience is still ready to throw rice as Sarah and Xander walk down the aisle. Is his lie really so much worse than Ciara (Victoria Konefal) mooning over serial killer Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), or Eric and Brady giving the crazy women in their lives multiple second, third, and fourth chances?
Xander only did what he did out of love for Sarah and loyalty to Victor (John Aniston). You know uncle Vic will eventually be forgiven for his crimes not just by Maggie, but Justin (Wally Kurth) and Sonny (Freddie Smith), too. So why shouldn’t Xander be?
