Whenever a plot needs a major reset, here comes Dr. Rolf (Will Utay)! Do fans appreciate this get out of jail card, or do you wish Salem was a more realistic place? (In Dr. Rolf’s defense, that ship likely sailed around the time of the Devil possession… it wasn’t all him). What over 3,000 viewers think:
Give It a Rest
Is there anything Dr. Rolf can’t do, 84% of you wonder? Will he bring (Macdonald Carey) and Alice (Frances Reid) back from the dead next? Drop Bo’s (Peter Reckell) consciousness into Hope’s (Kristian Alfonso) body so they can be together forever? Give David DNA therapy so that he can become Rafe’s (Galen Garing) biological child instead of Evan’s (Brock Kelly)? How is that any more ridiculous than what he’s already done?

The problem with keeping Dr. Rolf around is that he takes the stakes out of any action. Nothing is real and nothing matters if Dr. Rolf can just magically undo it. Stop the insanity!
Drama Is as Drama Does
Only 14% love the drama that Dr. Rolf brings. It’s not that his actions rob events of their consequences, it’s that you never know what might happen next! No death is forever, anybody might be anybody else, and boy, does it make recasting easier.
Rather than get rid of him, every show should have a Dr. Rolf around to fix writer mistakes and give the fans what they want long after it would seem impossible! Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
