In recent months, Xander has gone from dangerous bad guy to loveable romantic rogue on Days of Our Lives. Those who have missed seeing Xander’s more evil edge will want to check out a film in which his portrayer, Paul Telfer, appears.

“Can finally share some big news,” Telfer tweeted. “The film I co-wrote, produced and starred in just got bought by Lionsgate!”
The film is titled Green Rush and stars Telfer along with Mike Foy, Kriss Dozal, Misha Crosby, and Andre Fili. “It’s a story about two brothers who have a cannabis farm while legislation is changing and it forces them into dealing with the legal gray area in terms of how they traffic their cannabis,” director Gerard Roxburgh told MMAJunkie USAToday.

“What ends up happening is they unknowingly get betrayed by (people) who owe money to some bigger gangsters. They come to rob the farm of the cash – and that’s the gist of it. That’s the setup. The movie takes place over the course of only a few hours where these guys get to the farm and things turn violent.”
In 2018, Telfer told TV Insider he was thrilled about bringing Green Rush to the screen: “I’m really proud of it. It’s about a bunch of robbers taking down a weed farm. I play a super evil character in it. I go from playing Xander to R-rated evil. I put a twinkle in my eye when I play Xander. On this, I’m a lot creepier and scarier. I’m a creepy ex-con with a tattoo in my face.”
Telfer serves as one of the film’s co-producers. The actor was happy to see MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter Conor McGregor tweet out support for the film. Green Rush will be available on UHD, On Demand, and Redbox beginning Tuesday, April 14. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
