Days of our Lives aired a gut-wrenching episode on Tuesday as Kristen caught up to Sarah and had to get the distraught woman to return her baby to her. This was the culmination of a long baby-switch story and both actresses knocked it out of the park. But Linsey Godfrey, who plays Sarah, recently revealed the toll those scenes took on herself and Stacy Haiduk.
Linsey Godfrey Reveals Behind-The-Scenes Tidbit
Godfrey’s poor put-upon character lost two children in the span of a few days. After learning she’d been raising another couple’s child for the past year after her dead child was switched with theirs, Sarah took off for Paris, determined to not let go. A just-as-determined Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) managed to track her down.
While Kristen may have thought she was going to get vicious in order to secure her child away from Sarah, she quickly realized who she was dealing with — a broken woman. In a rare show of self-control, Kristen was able to reason with Sarah and finally got her to return the child she’d waited a lifetime to have — and the results were stunning.
Responding to the overwhelming fan reaction to the scenes on Twitter, Godfrey let viewers in how those scenes went down on the set and how much they affected her and Haiduk.
“Man thank you all so much! Doing those scenes with my darling @StaceHaiduk was incredible. When we finished these scenes I was exhausted. Stacy and I are both mama’s and buddies, these scenes and storylines were hard on us. We held each other and sobbed when we cut. I love her,” she enthused.
The scenes were heartbreaking for those who adore Sarah but for Kristen, it was heartwarming to see this woman finally hold the child she sensed such a strong connection to over the past year. While it looks like that may have been the last we’ll see of the “new” mom — Kristen and Rachel — you never know in Salem. Stay tuned. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
