The coronavirus wasn’t going to ruin a special day in Alison Sweeney’s life, as on July 8, the Days of our Lives icon celebrated a memorable date with husband, Dave Sanov.

“Dave and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary in our own backyard,” Sweeney wrote on Instagram, alongside an adorable photo of the couple enjoying a lobster dinner. “Not quite how we’d planned it, but … that’s one of the best lessons we’ve learned over the last 20 years. Some of the best adventures come when plans get chucked out the window.”
Sweeney married Sanov after dating for three years and the couple shares two children together. Among those wishing her congratulations on their special day were actresses Danica McKellar, Kellie Martin, and castmates Kristian Alfonso (Hope) and Lauren Koslow (Kate), who wrote, “Happy 20th anniversary – Ali & Dave The celebration and view look perfectly beautiful and RELAXED.”
On-screen, Sweeney’s Sami is no stranger to weddings, having been down the aisle a whopping 14 times, though only about half made it to the “I do” portion of the ceremony. Naturally, her real-life marriage has fared much better.

In 2015, Sweeney told People Magazine that the couple shares dinner every anniversary and talks about how the relationship is going. “We kind of give each other a job evaluation, which sounds a little embarrassing! We talk about our three favorite things about the other person and then three things that we could work on,” she said at the time.
Could you imagine Sami doing that with Austin or Lucas or E.J? DAYS fans are highly anticipating Sami’s return to Salem next week, which is sure to cause fireworks when she learns her daughter Allie is pregnant and considering giving up the baby to Sami’s ex, Rafe!
