Days of Our Lives star Galen Gering finished taping his last scenes this past winter, but he’s still on-screen — and also giving fans a treat with behind-the-scenes photos and videos via social media.
Galen Gering: A Gift For Fans
“People often ask what a typical day at @nbcdays is like,” Gering posted on Instagram. “This offers a small window into that. First, there’s me showing up and receiving something great in the mail (love that.) Then @katemansi (Abigail) laughing hysterically after spilling her peanut sauce all over our beloved Deidre. Goodtimes.
“Then rehearsal with the amazing @salstowers (Lani) and @lamonarchey (Eli) as always, @salstowers looking at me like ‘why are you recording this?!’ Fair thought. Same thoughts in next photo. @camila [Banus, Gabi] lookin fly ready to blow up Julie’s [Susan Seaforth Hayes] heart. Sis got issues.
“And of course @lamonarchey and @1caseymoss (J.J.) lookin like the dudes everyone wants to hang out with,” Gering adds. “And then there’s @laurenkoslow (Kate) givin me the finger for something I probably didn’t deserve. 😜And now she’s gonna kill me. And that’s all folks…”

Gering’s been part of the NBC soap world for over 20 years. He debuted as Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald on Passions, which debuted on July 5, 1999. He played the part until the series concluded in 2008 on DirecTV.
He was quickly invited back to NBC to play Rafe Hernandez, an FBI agent assigned to guard Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney). The couple wed but later split up. Later, Rafe wed Sami’s pal (and aunt by marriage) Hope (Kristian Alfonso), but, alas, that union didn’t last either.
Earlier this year, Galen shared that he was going to be exiting DAYS, but there’s been no official word on a final air date. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
