Days of our Lives is known for shocking plot twists. Viewers can never tell what’s going to happen next! It turns out that’s the case off-screen as well. Recent reports of a two-week shutdown related to a positive COVID-19 test were published, but that turned out not to be the correct time frame.
Days of our Lives Back On Set
The NBC serial has returned back to work early, apparently, as one actor from the show is posting about being back at the studio. “Stepping into Monday in @aliceandolivia black velvet,” Lauren Koslow (Kate) posted on Instagram. “Stay strong.”
The daytime veteran posted an inspiring Maya Angelou quote to get the week off right: “Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope” and also included some telling hashtags: “#love #hope #grateful #yourjourney #myjourney #mindfulness #staystrong #ofwhatispastorpassingortocome #days #dressingroomselfie #kozquotes costume design by @therichardbloore makeup by @nickschillace hair by @marisa.g.ramirez.”
When the original shutdown at DAYS was announced, reports said that there would be no interruption of original episodes airing. The show originally shut down back in March but had eight months’ worth of shows already finished. They were the last to return of the four soaps, coming back in September. This was their first shutdown after returning.
Koslow joined DAYS in 1996 when the character of Kate, previously played by Deborah Adair, was reintroduced. Kate, presumed dead in a plane crash, made her way back to Salem after working on a fishing boat. She was reunited with Victor (John Aniston) and did battle with nemesis Vivian (Louise Sorel), who wanted Victor for herself! Vivian ended up acting as a surrogate to Kate and Victor’s son, Philip (Jay Johnson).
Over the years, Kate’s love interests have included Victor, Roman (Josh Taylor), and Stefano (the late Joe Mascolo), and she’s had other dalliances with Clyde (James Read) and other men. Along the way, she’s never lost her sense of style as evidenced by supportive remarks from fans on her Instagram post.
