It says something about your soap town when, faced with two candidates for the greatest evil of 2016, Days of Our Lives fans were able to think of nearly a dozen more write-in votes. For over 2,000 of you, picking just one Big Bad proved a challenge. So who walked away with the (dis)honor? See for yourselves!

Lyre, Lyre
In Greek mythology, Orpheus was a master of the lyre, capable of charming all living things, and even nature via the power of his music. The myth of Orpheus and Eurydice is considered one of Western cannon’s greatest tragedies.

Orpheus loses his love to a snake bite, went to the Underworld to get her back, then lost her again when he couldn’t follow directions. Eventually, he was brutally murdered, and thus reunited with Eurydice in death.

So, uh, happy ending? For 65% of you, having Orpheus (George DelHoyo) back in Salem was a case of happy DAYS are here again. In 2016, his bad to the bone-ness included continuing to blame Roman (Josh Taylor) and, oh, what the heck, John (Drake Hogestyn), too, for the death of Orpheus’ wife.

What do you think? Post a comment!

He detonated bombs around Salem though, don’t worry, no contract players were badly hurt, and tried to set Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) on fire. And then he died. Several times. You know you can’t keep a bad man down.

A Pale Imitation
First, Andre (Thaao Penghlis) passed himself off as Tony. Now he’s trying to become the next Stefano. In 2016, fans learned he’d not only blackmailed Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove) into killing Hope (Kristian Alfonso) on their wedding night, but that he’d been keeping Aiden prisoner after faking his death. For 32% of viewers that was enough to brand him Salem’s Public Enemy #1.

Don’t You Forget About Me
But wait, there’s more! A small 3% of you split your votes between a slew of other villians, including Ben, Deimos, Kate, Clyde and Stefano. Except for the latter, following the death of Joseph Mascolo, all the rest are still available to wreak havoc into the new year. And, you know Deimos (Vincent Irizzary) and Kate (Lauren Kaslow) will!
