Although she was only in screen for less than a year (August 21, 1986 to May 7, 1987) songbird Tamara Price certainly left a lasting legacy on Days of Our Lives courtesy of her secret love child, Lani, who is now front and center in one of the wackiest plotlines ever seen in soap opera history — a pacemaker remotely controlled through a smartphone app!
Who Is Tamara Price?
Hoping to flee a disastrous love affair with a shady operator named Coleman, Tamara took a chance and headed to Salem where she ostensibly arrived to celebrate her college roommate’s remarriage. Marlena was absolutely thrilled to see her old friend and she and John (then assumed to be Roman Brady) delighted in Tamara’s rendition of Up Where We Belong.
Employment
Blessed with a set of golden pipes, Tamara found employment at Blondie’s as their nightly nightingale — a hire that bolstered Liz Curtis decision to split town since she had been serving as the hot spot’s resident chanteuse.
During her tenure as the club’s entertainer, Tamara crooned a number of classic ballads including If For Only One Night, Find Me, Since I Fell For You, and You Were Always on My Mind.
Start and Finish
Initially adversarial — she cut him off in traffic on her way to Marlena’s wedding venue — Tamara and Detective Abe Carver’s relationship quickly blossomed into something deeper and certainly more romantic.

However, Tamara’s head was quickly turned by the reappearance of her old paramour Coleman. Despite Abe uncovering the fact that Coleman’s assurances he would leave his wife were phony, Tamara still made the decision to resume their dormant dalliance and split town with him.
Tamara Price: Lani’s Mom
Decades later, Abe was intrigued by new Salem PD member Lani Price whose eyes immediately reminded him of Tamara’s. After seeing a photo of the woman in question on Lani’s computer, Abe inquired as to the women’s relationship.
Lani admitted that not only was Tamara her mother but, when she had left Salem all those years ago, she had been pregnant with Abe’s baby. And just like that, grieving widower Carver suddenly gained a daughter. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
