Salem’s about to get a man in town, ready for corporate roles. A rep for Days of Our Lives confirms to Soap Hub that actor Mike Manning is joining the show as Charlie, an intern at Titan. His first airdate is set for next week.
A New Man For Days of Our Lives
“I guess the 🐱 is outta the 🛍,” Manning posted on Instagram. “‘Charlie’ will be on Days of Our Lives starting next week. I hope you like him. Hold on tight. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride. 😏.” Watch for Charlie to interact with Claire (Isabel Durant).
What — if anything — is Charlie’s true connection to Claire? You’ll have to tune in to find out to see what different sides exist to Charlie. We can tell you that Manning is what’s known in the business as a “hyphenate” meaning he wears different hats — actor, producer, reality TV personality, and activist.
His first big break came when he was cast on the Washington, DC version of The Real World in 2009. He segued into the scripted fare, having appeared in Cloud 9, a Disney Channel original series set against the world of competitive snowboarding. Manning played the character of Nick Swift.
His other credits include Love Is All You Need and Hawaii Five-O. He produced the documentary Kidnapped for Christ. Manning’s a champion for LGBT rights and has worked for both the Human Rights Campaign and the Energy Action Coalition.
Manning wrote, starred in, and produced the short horror movie, Campsite Killer. He’s appeared on stage opposite Rae Dawn Chong in the play CLIMAX, which premiered at the Santa Monica Playhouse. The actor has also appeared in Teen Wolf and in the multiple Daytime Emmy award-winning series The Bay.
The multi-talented Manning has also tackled the issue of youth homelessness with the documentary Lost in America. The film is executive produced by Rosario Dawson and singer Jewel; it features Jon Bon Jovi and Halle Berry (Monster’s Ball; ex-Debbie, Knots Landing). Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC.
