Though it’s been some time since psychic and occult dabbler Celeste Perrault has been seen on screen, this Days of Our Lives staple remains a vibrant presence off-screen – remember, it was she who first warned Salemites that Stefano was both back in town and not really there. In the real-world, performer Tanya Boyd is busy celebrating a major milestone.
Happy Birthday, Tanya Boyd
That’s because she was born on March 20, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, which means that this beloved actress is turning 69 years old today! Boyd’s passion for acting led her to New York City where she spent years learning and honing her craft.
She eventually relocated to Los Angeles. In 1977, she appeared in two episodes of the highly acclaimed mini-series Roots. That was followed by a guest appearance on Good Times and a starring role in the CBS comedy, The Ted Knight Show.
Her subsequent work includes an episode of The Twilight Zone and appearances in both feature films (The Happy Hooker Goes Hollywood, Wholly Moses!, JoJo Dancer, Your Mother Is Calling) and made-for-TV movies (Walking Through Fire, Murder Can Hurt You, Tricks of the Trade, and the Disappearance of Christina).
Boyd made her Days of Our Lives debut on April 11, 1994, and she remained a contract cast member on that sudser until 1999. In 1999, she was dropped to recurring status; her final appearance was in 2007.
Boyd’s other acting jobs include episodes of Under One Roof and The Good News, as well as a starring role in the comedy film For Da Love of Money. Boyd is also a talented singer who traveled the world as a backup vocalist for such well-known artists as Anita Baker, Lou Rawls, Bobby Lyle, and Natalie Cole. She had a brief association with The 5th Dimension, a popular music group.
Soap Hub would like to wish Tanya Boyd a very happy birthday and many more. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
