Days of our Lives fans recall actress Shelley Hennig from her run as Stephanie Johnson,  which was from 2007 to 2011. She remains one of Hollywood’s busiest actresses, having landed a role in a new limited TV series.

Shelley Hennig Joins Kristen Bell

According to Deadline, Hennig has been cast opposite Kristen Bell (The Good Place; Veronica Mars) and Tom Riley (Dark Heart) in the Netflix show The Woman in the House, which is set for eight episodes.

The show is created by Rachael Ramras, Hugh Davidson, and Larry Dorf, who are also producing the series. The story features a woman named Anna (played by Bell), who is heartbroken and every day is the same for her. She’s alone, but things change when a handsome neighbor moves in across the street. Then, Anna starts to see hope in her future.

The story takes a twist after she witnesses a horrific killing…or does she? Hennig’s character is a woman named Lisa, who is described as “sweet and sexy,” but there may be more to her than a seemingly shallow surface. Anna believes that there is.

Bell is executive producer of the series along with Will Ferrell (Elf, Saturday Night Live), Jessica Elbaum, and Brittney Segal. Marti Noxon (UnREAL) is a creative consultant on the show.

During Hennig’s run in Salem, Stephanie was raped by a man named Ford Decker (Matthew Florida), who attacked other women at Stephanie’s college. She and her sorority sisters lured Ford to their house in order to drug him and teach him a lesson. Ford, however, tried to rape Chelsea (Rachel Melvin). He chased her up some stairs and accidentally fell to his death. Max (Darin Brooks) helped move the body. Chelsea finally told her father, Bo (Peter Reckell), the truth.

Later, Stephanie was involved with both Philip (Jay Johnson) and Nathan (Mark Hapka). Those relationships ended and she left town and took a job in Chicago. While Hennig is always busy with other projects, don’t count her out from ever returning to Salem. The actress reprised Stephanie for a few episodes in 2017 when her parents, Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), tied the knot. Days of our Lives airs weekdays on NBC.
