We thought we saw the last of Stefano DiMera on Days of Our Lives when Hope allegedly shot him dead last year.
After all, actor Joseph Mascolo gave exit interviews announcing his retirement for health reasons. Plus, the character seemed really, most sincerely dead.
We should have known that wasn’t the case. Of course Stefano never dies. He didn’t get the nickname The Phoenix for nothing, as The Phoenix will always rise from the ashes.
Sadly, real life and reel life are not the same and the actor passed away in December. However, he had already taped new Stefano scenes in much secrecy and those scenes finally air tomorrow.

True to form, Stefano will not die. Instead, he will just disappear into the night. Because we know Mascolo will never return, we can just remember that Stefano is out there…somewhere…alive, but never to be seen again.
