The Days of Our Lives recap for Friday, February 1 features John learning he knows Leo’s mother from the days when he thought he was Roman.
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) was worried sick about Ciara (Victoria Konefal) when she couldn’t get a hold of her but she didn’t know that Ciara was tied up at the moment — literally.
Hope asked Marlena when she last saw Ben and if he mentioned Ciara. She admitted she saw him that day and Hope begged her to tell her what happened.
Meanwhile, a gagged Ciara called out for her mom when she heard the phone message. She flashed back to the fire from the summer when her captor lit a match. The captor touched her face, scaring Ciara.
Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) found Stefan (Tyler Christopher) enjoying the remnants of Eli and Lani’s Miami Beach setup at Doug’s Place. He tried his charming best to get Chloe to join him and when she did, they got to know each other better.
But the fun atmosphere changed when Chloe opened a package with the bloody knife she used to kill the Mexican drug lord. So, Stefan called the police.

Earlier, Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Diana (Judith Chapman) connected and Marlena and realized that she’s Leo’s mom as Diana realized she’s Will’s grandmother — and apologized for Leo’s behavior.
Marlena wondered what happened in Leo’s life to make him this way. Diana remained silent and then asked if she’d throw Sami under the bus.
Leo (Greg Rikaart) hit on Brady (Eric Martsolf), who was annoyed by his leering and even threatened him when he touched him. Leo then grabbed Brady and kissed him as John (Drake Hogestyn) walked in.
Leo was attracted to John too until he realized he was the one who found his mother. Once he left, John asked Brady if he should really be back at the mansion and quizzed him about Chloe. Later, John went to see Diana and when she saw him, she called him Roman!
