The Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for January 4 features Theo learning there’s more to his getting back to 100% than he realized.
Heart-to-Heart
Abe (James Reynolds) found Theo (Kyler Pettis) reading up on Stefan. He asked his son when he started lying since he never used to. Theo apologized for lying to him. Abe told Theo he’s done working with the DiMeras and done with them completely. Claire found them arguing but then Kayla interrupted.
She announced that his limb weakness could be helped by a brain stem cell trial taking place in South Africa. Theo feared that Abe was sending him away. He was afraid to be alone and didn’t want to go, but Abe told Theo he’s going. Theo didn’t want to leave Claire so she said she’d go too.
Sibling Rivalry
Chad (Billy Flynn) was not happy when Stefan (Tyler Christopher) announced he and Vivian (Louise Sorel) are moving into the mansion since he essentially owns it. While he could call in the note, he just wants to live there with them, not instead of them.
Stefan said he hopes to get to know them all, but Chad accused him of sabotaging the company. Stefan said there’s no proof and left to pick out the room he wants (he wants Chad and Abby’s, of course). Chad called Belle to ask her to investigate Stefan.
Kate (Lauren Koslow) pushed Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) to get the DNA results quickly. Eventually, they came back and Kayla gave them to Kate. She took the envelope home to Chad, Abby, and Stefan.

Good For The Soul
Earlier, Ciara (Victoria Konefal) woke with a hangover, which thrilled Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) who made a lot of noise. She gave her a hard time and warned her to stay away from Theo. After Claire left, Ciara confessed to Tripp (Lucas Adams) about Rafe cheating on her mom.
Painful Truth
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) told Rafe (Galen Gering) she fears that Ciara is keeping a secret. She asked why she’s so mad at him, and Rafe lied that he had no idea. He had to sit by when she said she was going to find out what it is, once and for all.
Rafe was going to tell her but Kate interrupted and asked what they’re doing about Vivian. They said their hands are tied and Kate left in a huff. Hope then got called away so Rafe visited Ciara and told her they need to talk.
