The Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for January 30 finds Paul in shock after catching his father in a lie. What will he do about it?
Shocking Discovery
A stunned Paul (Christopher Sean) overheard John talk about poisoning his best friend. He asked John about it and then saw him slip a vial in his pocket. John claimed it was homeopathic eye drops but Paul wasn’t buying it. John also realized Paul was suspicious.
Feeling Betrayed
Sonny (Freddie Smith) showed up at Will’s (Chandler Massey) door after Brady taunted him that Will moved near Paul. Sonny was not happy about it and let Will know it. Will wants to move on and handed him the divorce papers.
After Sonny left, Paul stopped by and Will could see he was upset and offered to listen. Paul told him suspicions about John and told Will how he lied. Paul knows something is wrong. Will wanted to call Marlena, thinking she should know.
John’s contact later met him in the park, gave him another vial, and reminded him how important what they’re doing is – while hoping John’s not having second thoughts. John was obviously angry but was being forced to get the job done.
Worried Sick
Steve (Stephen Nichols) told Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) the glasses no longer worked. She made him go to the hospital to get checked out. Later, he told her he needed to update her and she realized the news wasn’t good.

Growing Closer
Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) barged in on a shirtless Eric (Greg Vaughan) and she told him Roman’s in custody for lying for Anna, which ticked off Eric. She tried to get him to understand why Roman may have done it. Before he could ask her to dinner, Dr. Shaw arrived.
The Noose Tightens
JJ (Casey Moss) was very attentive to Lani (Sal Stowers) as she waited for a routine appointment. Kayla arrived and talked JJ out of being part of the appointment and later tried to get Lani to tell the truth — but she refused.
Valerie (Vanessa Williams) won’t let go of her theory that Eli (Lamon Archey) could be the baby’s father. Eli told her Lani said the baby is JJ’s and to let it go. She obviously couldn’t because she later tracked down Lani. Lani lied again and later Valerie stole her file and learned the truth.
