The Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for Wednesday, October 4 features  man can be pushed to his breaking point — and the consequences.

Going Rogue
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) was named  new commissioner and her fellow cops applauded when she entered the squad room. But when she entered interrogation and found JJ (Casey Moss) with a gun pointed at Ben’s head, she ordered him to holster his weapon. It proved an awkward way for him to learn she was his new boss.

Hope sent him out as she and Rafe (Galen Gering) sat down to question Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) themselves. In the end, they didn’t get much farther than JJ, but Hope wanted to make sure they retained custody of Ben — and not Bayview.

Love Wins!
Sonny (Freddie Smith) visited Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abby (Marci Miller) and let them know there’s no way he can go through with the wedding if there’s a chance that Will (Chandler Massey) is alive. He encourages them to get married, saying it would please them if they were happy at least.

Andre (Thaao Penghlis) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) bonded over their love for Chad and Abigail when the couple walked in to announce that they would go ahead with the wedding. As they lamented no minister, in walked their original one. They decided to marry with just Andre, Jennifer, and Thomas in attendance.

The Truth Is Out There
Paul (Christopher Sean) was still devastated by what Ben’s news did to Sonny (Freddie Smith) and their plans to wed. Lani (Sal Stowers) tried to comfort Paul and said maybe the cops will get further in the investigation.

Sonny and Paul eventually met up and Paul told him he hopes Will is alive, making Sonny love him even more. Paul then suggested that he should exhume Will’s body to learn the truth.

Back at the station, Hope recalled JJ and let him know what she decided about his fate. It pained her but he has to face consequences so she suspended him without pay until further notice.
