The Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for Wednesday, May 16 has Chad fighting to save his marriage by asking Abigail to plead insanity rather than guilty. Will he change her mind?
Facing Consequences
Justin (Wally Kurth) couldn’t defend Abigail (Marci Miller) but advised she plead insanity. After he left, Abby told Chad she wanted to plead guilty, figuring her family would be safer with her away. Chad tried to talk her out of it but she said no.
After Chad slipped about Gabi, he told Abby what happened to her. He also slipped about Stefan. Abby pressed him to find out what Stefan did, but Chad managed to sidestep it.
Lethal Threat
Earlier, Kate (Lauren Koslow) had a run-in with Stefan (Tyler Christopher). She warned he will be mired in scandal and should step down, which prompted Stefan to fire her and warn her to pack her bags and leave.

Stefan then told her if it’s revealed that she killed Vivian (and it wasn’t self-defense), he will kill her. Later, an angry Chad showed up.
Freedom Ahead
Rafe (Galen Gering) let Gabi know about Abby’s confession. Justin arrived and told Rafe to give Hope the annulment, since it was inevitable, and then fight for her.
Rafe returned to a depressed Gabi, who worried her life is in a shambles. He tried to perk her up, but Abby’s actions toward her continued to haunt her. Later, Abby came by.
