Characters come and go on Days of Our Lives (DOOL). It’s the nature of the beast on a soap opera. They fall in love, get married, have children – and then some of them die. It can often be tragic.
Soap Hub asked which Salem death gutted fans the most, and it was a close race.
Poor Fancy Face
It looks like Hope (Kristian Alfonso) wasn’t the only one devastated by Bo’s (Peter Reckell) death. After over 4,500 votes were tallied, 52% said Bo dying in Hope’s arms was the loss that you felt the most and continue to feel to this day.
Bo came on the show with a chip on his shoulder and a rebellious streak a mile long. His romance with Hope captured our hearts and the show hasn’t been the same since his death.
Doctor, Doctor
While half of Salem seems to still be reeling from the loss of Daniel (Shawn Christian), a respectable 32% of fans are as well. His shocking death after being killed by a drunk driving Eric has had reverberations until this day.

Sami’s Love
It seems that 15% of you believe that Sami (Alison Sweeney) losing the love of her life, EJ (James Scott) was the moment that affected you the most. The couple were so amazing together, and his loss was one that upset so many people in Salem.
Jack Attack
Only 1% chose Jack (Matt Ashford) as the one whose death gutted them the most. You thought his love with Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) would last forever — they would raise their children and grow old together. When the elevator cable broke, so did all of your hopes for them.
