Days of Our Lives (DOOL) has been promising to rid the show of all its doom and gloom but instead it’s now almost too creepy to watch.
Wasn’t it horrible enough to see Nicole (Arianne Zucker) have to give up her baby that she longed for her entire life? It was heartbreaking to see her best friend Chloe create the great gift and then snatch it away – all because she hated Nicole’s now ex-boyfriend.
Nicole was so desperate, she knocked Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) out, grabbed her daughter, and went on the run – escaping to Canada with Brady.
Finally it seemed like things were going Nicole’s way, but of course DAYS will never allow that. Fine, we get the fear of having her next door neighbor be a cop. That seemed bad enough and tension was high.
But then they had to turn things up a notch with the cop’s sex addicted husband. Seriously? So he’s now recognized Nicole from her porn star past and is threatening to turn her in to his cop wife if she doesn’t have sex with him.
What were DAYS writers smoking then they thought this would be something that would bring in viewers? It’s driving them away! Don’t we see enough sexual predators in real life lately?

Women make up the majority of the audience and they certainly seem to be the coveted demographic.
So why do they think it’s entertaining to watch a woman we care about be raped essentially to save her daughter? Even if Nicole manages to escape this, it isn’t dramatic – it’s exploitive, and disturbing.
You’d think a show at the bottom of the ratings wouldn’t risk alienating the very viewers they’re seeking to reach.
SIDE BAR: One of the few enjoyable things this show had going for it was the adult romance of Eduardo (A Martinez) and Kate (Lauren Koslow). Eduardo was a multi-layered character you could root for – and the same can be said for Kate.
These two were magical together. Sadly, with Martinez leaving the show, it looks like it’s truly the end of the road for Kate and Eddie.
