With the Coronavirus spread now a national emergency, companies, institutions, and large venues are making the decision to close out of health and safety concerns — and television sets are no exception. Last night Days of Our Lives stars Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols took to Instagram and shared an update on what their soap will be doing.
Days of Our Lives Coronavirus Update
The actors gave the crucial, but now well-known advice to frequently wash hands and use hand sanitizer when you can’t, as well as distance yourself from one another and stay out of large crowds. Of course, they did acknowledge they were close to each other in the video.
“Wash your hands and don’t touch your face,” Nichols (Steve) wrote in a caption near the shared video. You can see the affection these two longtime co-stars have for each other with their cute banter, but they do let us know one crucial piece of information.
“We’re here at the studio this week and then we have next week off, but after that, who knows?” Nichols said.
Evans (Kayla) added that we won’t even miss them during time off because DAYS has so many episodes already in the can, being that they tape more than a half a year in advance. Any time off shouldn’t affect us getting new shows and Evans said she hopes her and her fellow actors can entertain you during this difficult time for everyone in this world.
DAYS is not the only soap that won’t be in production next week. General Hospital has closed its set, but we are not sure for how long. Word is, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful are still going for now. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
