Days of our Lives has all the makings of a classic soap story in place: Nicole thinks the baby she lost was EJ’s. The baby’s real father, Eric, is raising the baby Melinda stole with his new wife, Sloan. But, here is what would make a good story great: we need to see EJ’s ex-wife — who happens to be Eric’s twin sister — Sami Brady, back in Salem. But, she shouldn’t return alone.
Tis the Season For Sami Brady
Christmas is coming. (As is winter.) Which is an excellent time for Sami (Alison Sweeney) to pop home for a visit. And, bring her youngest child, Sydney, along for the ride. Sami can say that it’s so Sydney can visit her dad, EJ. She can even mean it. But, we know it’s so that all the pieces will be in place for when Nicole (Arianne Zucker) is able to prove that Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Sloan’s (Jessica Serfaty) little boy is actually hers. Nicole will go all scorched earth on her rival. (Relive Sami’s last visit to Salem here.)
All Out in the Open
Just in time for Sami to remind them that Nicole once did the exact same thing to her. First, it will put Eric in a bind about what to do regarding Sloan. But, as an added bonus, it can be the first time Sydney ever hears about it. Prior, she had no particular feelings about her new stepmother, Nicole. She may have even liked her. But now, all bets are off.

Sydney becomes determined to break up EJ and Nicole and to reunite her mommy and daddy. And, she’ll go about it in the most Sami Jr. manner possible. Salem needs a young Sami, and Sydney is the perfect candidate now that she has means, opportunity, and most importantly, motive. With the reveal of the baby switch, DAYS has a golden opportunity to let the past influence the present.
