Stefan O. DiMera and Gabi Hernandez DiMera are probably spitting mad that their favorite Days of our Lives couple is still apart, despite his miraculous resurrection after being believed dead for four years — and donating his heart! — but this brainwashing was actually a blessing in disguise.
Days of our Lives: Bring on The Romance
Sure, the agony of seeing Stefan (Brandon Barash) reject Gabi (Camila Banus) again and again when viewers know how much he actually loved her, can be painful to watch. But there is nothing better than watching a scrappy Gabi fight for what she wants, and right now, despite the presence of Li Shin (Remington Hoffman), what Gabi wants will always be Stefan.
Think about it — if Stefan woke up and went straight to Gabi, she would have dropped everything to be with him, and then what? Where’s the rooting value in that if she gets her dream? No, the fun with Gabi is everyone thinking they’ve got the best of her and Gabi proving them wrong! Gabi having it all can be a grating Gabi to watch. No, we prefer Gabi when we can root for her to come out on top, despite the odds.
Not only that, but what Stabi fans really enjoy, or at least we hope, is the romance between these two. Watching Gabi trying to will Stefan’s memory of their love back, and his occasional flashes, is increasing their rooting value — how can that nasty Li and equally awful Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) stop these two from recovering their true love after all they’ve been through? The soap gods can’t be that cruel, can they?
It’s Days of our Lives, so of course, they can! But it’s obvious that the show knows what they have in Stabi and are writing for them, placing obstacles as they only do with a true supercouple, and as fans of that supercouple, how can that be wrong? So buckle in for the roller-coaster ride and enjoy the glory on the road to their reunion…whatever year it happens.
